About the picture
This image was taken on the Kabini backwaters in Nagarahole National Park in April 2009. Unknown to us, this male tiger was on the riverbank, submerged in the water and resting. As we passed him, he jumped out of the water, walked past us, and sat at the edge of the forest. Watching this big fella for quite some time was a treat. Later in the evening, as a herd of elephants came from the forest to drink water, he quietly got up and went inside the forest.
Fun Fact
Tigers don't only have striped fur, they also have striped skin.
