About the picture
This image of Arrowhead, the tigress, was taken in Ranthambore National Park in 2017. She was patrolling her territory, scent-marking various trees and rocks, and ultimately sat down beneath a ficus tree to rest. The stilt roots of the tree in the background make this an interesting image and enhance the beauty of the tigress.

Shere Khan, the tiger featured in The Jungle Book is a Royal Bengal Tiger. Rudyard Kipling based the forest in The Jungle Book on Pench National Park in Maharashtra.
