Did you know?
Tigers mark their territory by spraying their urine and/or gland secretion on trees, dotting the forest trail with faeces, and leaving claw marks on trees or the ground. Adult tigers lead largely solitary lives. Females, when sexually potent, signal their availability by scent marking more frequently and advertising to increase their chances of finding a mate. Females reach sexual maturity at around 3 to 4 years of age and males mature at about 4 to 5 years of age.
About the picture
This image was also captured in May 2019 when this tigress emerged from the forest and started walking on a carpet of fallen red, Mayflower petals. The moment she walked on the flower carpet led to this stunning image of this beautiful tigress in brilliant lighting.
Fun Fact
The force generated from a single swipe of a tiger’s paw is enough to split a human skull in half.
