The Grey-Winged Blackbird is a species of bird in the Thrush family. Like the rest of the Thrush family, the Blackbird is also known for its musical vocalizations. It is found in south-eastern Asia from the Himalayas to northern Vietnam.

About the picture

This male Grey-Winged Blackbird posed for me on a mossy branch. You can clearly see his bright orange beak and eyering, as well as the silvery-grey patch on his wings. This was photographed in Sattal, Uttarakhand.

The Grey-Winged Blackbird is commonly found in an altitudinal range of 1800-2700m (5900 - 8900 feet). They tend to migrate towards lower altitudes in winter
