Did you know?
Mount Kilimanjaro is a dormant volcano located in the Kilimanjaro Region of Tanzania. It has three volcanic cones: Kibo, Mawenzi, and Shira. It is the highest mountain in Africa and the highest single free-standing mountain above sea level in the world.
About the picture
At Amboseli National Park in Kenya, if you are lucky and it happens to be a clear sky, you may get the chance to see the mighty snow-capped Kilimanjaro in the distance. When I visited Amboseli in 2015, it just happened to be a bright clear day. I waited until I could get a passing herd of elephants to move right in front of Kilimanjaro. These two tuskers obliged and the shades of green and blue make the photo pop even more.
Fun Fact
On 26 September 2014, a new world record for the highest-ever cricket match was set when a group of international cricketers played on a flat crater on Kilimanjaro at an elevation of 5,730 m (18,800 ft).
