About the picture
This image of a male tiger resting inside a cave was taken in May 2018 in Ranthambhore National Park. Since it can get really hot in May, the tiger had been sitting in a waterhole for the better part of the day. In the afternoon, he got up and entered this cave to get some respite from the sun. Later in the evening, he emerged from the cave to quench his thirst before disappearing into the jungle.
