The Malabar Parakeet is also known as the Blue-Winged Parakeet – a species of parakeet endemic to the Western Ghats in southern India. Their long blue tails have a yellow tip and their dark wings have a blue contrast.
About the picture
This photo was taken in the Western Ghats. Parakeets of different species were congregating in one spot. Here, a male Plum-Headed Parakeet (left) joins two Malabar Parakeets on a branch.
