Did you know?

A large portion of the Masai Mara is made up of vast golden-hued grasslands for as far as the human eye can see. It is the classic savannah that gives you an excellent view of the wildlife in the area.
About the picture
This photograph of two Masai Giraffes silhouetted against the rising sun was clicked in Masai Mara in 2016. I waited patiently at a distance with the sun in position, until the two giraffes walked into the frame. At the last minute, the two individuals separated for a few seconds to reveal the sun right in between them, and I clicked this picture.
Fun Fact
Masai Mara covers an area of 1510 sq km. In comparison, Karnataka’s largest – Bandipur National Park – covers 874 sq km.
