Did you know?

The Cuando (or Kwando) River is a river in south-central Africa flowing through Angola and Namibia's Caprivi Strip and into the Linyanti Swamp on the northern border of Botswana. Below the swamp, the river is called the Linyanti River and, farther east, the Chobe River, before it flows into the Zambezi River. The Chobe River provides much of the water in Chobe National Park.

About the picture

Chobe National Park is known to have the most number of elephants in all of Africa. This photo of a large herd drinking water and bonding with each other was taken in 2018. You can even see two young calves locking tusks and play-fighting while the elders quench their thirst.

Fun Fact

To celebrate their second wedding to each other, Hollywood actors Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton married in secret at Chobe National Park in 1975.
