Did you know?

Chobe National Park is Botswana’s third largest park. This park is noted for having a population of lions that prey on elephants, Elephants of Chobe are said to have the largest herd size of all known elephant populations. They are characterised by rather brittle ivory and short tusks, perhaps due to calcium deficiency in the soils.

About the picture

This male African Bush Elephant had enjoyed a dip in the river before proceeding to spray wet mud all over his body. He clearly looks like he is enjoying his spa session. I clicked this photo at Chobe National Park in Botswana in 2018.

Fun Fact

The Chobe Game Reserve was officially created in 1960. In 1968, the reserve was declared a national park.
